Psychology tutoring for GCSE, A-Level and university.
Hi, I'm Taeona — a PhD researcher at King's College London. I tutor psychology one-to-one, online or in person across London and Buckinghamshire.
About me
Hi, I'm Taeona.
I'm doing my PhD in child neurodevelopment at King's College London, funded by the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre. My research looks at how prenatal pandemic exposure affects early language development and the brain networks behind it.
Before that I did an MSc in Applied Paediatric Neuropsychology at UCL and a BSc in Psychology at Cardiff. Along the way I've worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital, on the Brain Imaging in Babies Project at King's, and on a UNICEF systematic review of infant vision interventions.
Outside academia, I've spent over a decade working with children and teenagers — as a gymnastics coach, a teaching assistant in Cape Town, and a student mentor at Cardiff. The moment something clicks for a student is genuinely my favourite part of the job.
Who I work with
Whatever level you're at.
Sessions are pitched to wherever you've got to — your first GCSE paper, your final-year dissertation, the UCAS rush, or anything in between.
GCSE
Getting comfortable with the core ideas and the way exam questions are actually marked.
A-Level
Research methods, essay structure, and a proper handle on the topics across both years.
Undergraduates
Academic writing, statistics, dissertations, and making sense of long reading lists.
University Applicants
Personal statements, interview prep, and an honest read on your application.
What sessions cover
What we work on.
Exam prep
Past papers and mark schemes broken down properly, so you know what examiners are actually looking for.
Practice papers
Working through past questions together, with feedback on the answer itself, the structure, and your timing.
Essays & proofreading
From the first draft to the version you hand in — building a clear argument and tightening up the writing.
Research methods
The bit most students dread. I use stats and methodology every week in my own research, so I can explain them without the jargon.
UCAS & applications
Personal statements, mock interviews, and a proper read-through of your application before you send it.
Coursework & feedback
If you're staring at marker comments wondering what they actually mean, we can work through them together and figure out where to go next.
All major exam boards covered — AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and IB.
